Did I read that right? SPAIN??? The one place I said I would enjoy serving in was Barcelona. When does it happen that someone gets called to the place where they actually want to serve? Almost never!! I was overwhelmed with emotion and was barely able to get through the first sentence. There was no doubt in my mind that Spain was exactly where I was supposed to be sent to. It was one of the most spiritual moments I have ever had.
Did I also mention that my call came on my 21st birthday?! I had been waiting for two weeks and thought I was going to have one more week to wait. I was out for a birthday lunch and got the call I had been waiting for. What a great way to spend my 21st birthday! I could never have gotten a better birthday present on my 21st birthday! March 9, 2013 will forever be a birthday to remember.
